If you have been blocked from receiving federal student aid due to failure to make Satisfactory Academic Progress and wish to make an appeal, you may do so below. Please note the following policy.
Federal government regulations permit a student who is not making Satisfactory Academic Progress to submit an appeal if one of the following has affected their academic performance: “the death of a relative, an injury or illness of the student, or other special circumstances” – 34 CFR 668.34(a)(9)(ii).
In the section below, please provide a detailed explanation of the circumstance that has affected your academic performance in the previous term. In order to be approved, your appeal must also state what has changed in your circumstances that will eliminate the problem that caused you not to meet satisfactory academic progress standards.
Also, if your explanation is approved, you will be issued an academic plan which you must follow in order to continue to receive aid until you are once again making Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Once we have received this form, we will let you know if any supporting documentation is necessary in order to evaluate your appeal.
Your SAP Appeal will be reviewed by the Academic Oversight staff.
