Course Description
This course will introduce you to the practice of Emotional Intelligence in Christ. This will anchor your ability in the Holy Spirit to discern and manage personal emotions and behaviors, so they can honor God by loving others well, like Jesus. Additionally, this course will provide the tools and practice to help build a community that is Emotionally Intelligent in Christ.
Course Objectives
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Reflect on the value of emotional intelligence in work and personal contexts.
- Use assessments such as Biblical DiSC and Maturity Skills to develop plans to improve emotional and social skills.
- Reflect on how emotional development and deep relationships bring transformation in ministry contexts.
- Write out your life story reflecting on how it has shaped your own emotional and social development.
- Apply principles of how emotional development and deep relationships bring transformation into recommendations for improving a residential addiction recovery ministry.
- Write out a motivational talk on the importance of deep relationships and connection with Christian community for residential addiction recovery graduates.
- Develop a comprehensive plan for improving your emotional and social skills based on the 1) Emotional Competency Framework, 2) Maturity Skills Assessment and 3) 19 Brain Skill models.
